“This episode is about one small tiny thing that you can do that can help you with impact and also can help you with sales.” – Chardét Ryel, Visibility & Podcast Mentor

  • What are some effective strategies to avoid burnout as an entrepreneur?
  • How do I know if I’m choosing purpose over hustle in my business?
  • How can I build a business that aligns with my purpose instead of just chasing sales?

If you’re a small business owner or entrepreneur, you’re no stranger to the pressures of growing an online business—often at the cost of your well-being.

What if the key to success isn’t in the massive leaps, but in the small, intentional actions you take each day? Welcome to the world of “slow burner moves,” a concept that could change the way you approach your business and your life.

Why Small Moves Matter for Online Business Growth

In the relentless pursuit of growth, many entrepreneurs focus on the big, bold moves—the major campaigns, the next big launch. But the reality is that it’s the small, consistent actions that truly lead to sustainable online business growth. These tiny decisions, often overlooked, set the stage for long-term success.

Think about the small choices you make every day. Each one signals to the world—and to yourself—that you’re ready for more. Whether it’s starting a new project, committing to a creative pursuit, or even stopping something that no longer serves you, these moves accumulate over time. And when they align with your purpose, they open doors to opportunities that you may have never imagined.

As I often say, “It’s the idea that we make these small choices that either open us up to opportunities and expansion or shut us down.” The beauty of the slow burner move is that it doesn’t require you to overhaul your life or business overnight. It just asks for one small step in the right direction.

The Cost of Entrepreneur Burnout

There’s no shortage of advice out there telling you to hustle harder, show up everywhere, and do more. But for many business owners, this relentless grind leads to entrepreneur burnout. Burnout can creep in whether things are going well or not, leaving you physically and emotionally drained. It’s the kind of exhaustion that can rob you of your passion and make you question why you started your business in the first place.

Burnout happens when your business consumes you, rather than supports you. So, how do you grow without sacrificing your well-being? The answer lies in focusing on purpose over hustle. When you realign your business around impact and meaning, instead of just chasing sales, you can start to find the balance that makes growth sustainable.

One of my favorite mantras is, “Choose purpose over hustle. Have the courage to do things differently, to grow a business that’s about impact, not just sales.” By prioritizing purpose, you not only protect yourself from burnout but also create a business that has a lasting impact on your community and your clients.

How Podcasting Can Be Your Slow Burner Move

For many entrepreneurs, one of the most powerful slow burner moves they’ve made is starting a podcast. Podcasting allows you to connect deeply with your audience, share your message, and build trust—all while avoiding the pressures of social media’s instant gratification cycle.

When I launched my first podcast, I didn’t know what to expect. I had a small audience and recorded episodes in my bedroom with a simple setup. But that small move—starting a show that aligned with my purpose—completely transformed my business. It opened up new client opportunities, allowed me to create content that mattered, and gave me a platform to grow organically.

If you’re thinking about starting a podcast, remember this: it’s not about having the perfect setup or a massive following. It’s about showing up authentically and sharing what’s real for you. As I reflect on my own journey, I often say, “I feel this calling, I wanna do this small tiny thing and see what happens. And it has transformed everything in my business.”

Podcasting isn’t just another marketing tool; it’s a way to build meaningful connections, amplify your message, and support online business growth in a sustainable way.

Breaking the Hustle Playbook

We’re often told that success comes from constantly grinding—being everywhere, all the time. But what if that playbook is outdated? Just as the corporate ladder used to be the path to security, the online hustle is not the only way to grow your business.

What’s often missing from the hustle narrative is impact. Sure, you might see some wins from constantly posting on social media or working late nights, but does it bring you fulfillment? Does it make you feel like you’re creating real change in your community?

For me, the real shift came when I decided to focus on impact over quantity. Instead of chasing likes or followers, I started focusing on the quality of connections I was making through my podcast. “My message was selling for me and I was still having the impact,” I’ve said. And this change allowed me to step back from the constant hustle while still seeing results.

If you’re tired of the grind, I challenge you to think about your business differently. What would happen if you focused on meaningful actions that align with your purpose, rather than chasing the next quick win?

What’s Your Slow Burner Move?

As entrepreneurs, we all have something we’ve been putting off. A small decision that we know could make a big difference, but we haven’t taken the plunge. Maybe it’s starting that blog, launching a podcast, or finally letting go of a project that’s no longer serving you.

So, I’ll ask you this: What’s your slow burner move? What’s the one tiny choice that could take you down a new path? As I often share, “Think about your slow burner move. What’s the one tiny choice that will put you on a pathway that’s different?”

This isn’t about rushing into something new. It’s about listening to what feels aligned and taking that first step. And once you do, you’ll be amazed at how that small move can lead to online business growth, new opportunities, and a deeper sense of purpose.

Take Action Without Burnout

The road to success doesn’t have to be exhausting. By embracing slow burner moves and focusing on purpose over hustle, you can avoid entrepreneur burnout while still growing your business. Whether it’s launching a podcast, shifting your strategy, or simply making space for more meaningful work, you have the power to shape your journey.

So, take a moment today to think about your next move. And remember, you don’t have to do it all at once. Small, intentional actions can lead to extraordinary results. What’s your slow burner move going to be?
